People may have many different opinions when it comes to choosing to buy twitter followers. When my friend Tony Pofaia wanted to take his business selling plastic panels to the next level the first place he looked to was social media. Gary Trudai who is a Manchester web design expert and also a site teaching singing lessons online swears that purchasing twitter followers to kickstart your social media campaign is the way to go. “For some, it is but natural because everyone is doing it, even the really well known people in different industries – business, arts even politics. Others feel that this is such an unethical way of getting supporters and Twitter itself thinks so too.” Here is a list of why buying fans puts one at a disadvantage.
Not allowed by Twitter
If the site itself considers it unethical, then why risk being accused of being one by purchasing supporters? There is a pretty good reason why Twitter finds this unethical. Besides, there are a hundred and one ways to increase ones fans through online alternatives. It is better to choose to do them than opt for the seemingly easy way of gaining popularity by buying fans.
Requirement of Personal Account Information
Giving out ones personal account information is always a high risk way of doing things. There are actually companies that adds supporters by accessing ones account through the given username and password. This is very dangerous and can pose serious threats to ones reputation.
ROI Not Assured
Having many fans does not guarantee online popularity or translating the quantity of supporters into real sales. Add to this the wasted time and effort of trying to get response from “many” supporters who are inactive most of the time.
Quantity is Not Equal to Quality
It’s far better to be talking and waiting for 100 quality followers to respond than having to wait for thousands of followers only to find out that they are spambots. Not to say that all companies selling followers on Twitter fall on this category, but without proper research, one might be ending up with non-quality followers instead of having the real ones that are truly worth it.
Hope You All Are Having A Great Thanksgiving!!!
Hey guys I hope you all are having a great Thanksgiving holiday. I just wanted to tell you a great story that will hopefully keep you motivated to finish the year strong. Every year myself and a few of our friends go down to the nearest food shelter and try to help out a little bit before our own family feasting during this holiday. This year especially if you live in the northeast, there have been a huge number of people that are in need, and those of us who are fortunate to have food and shelter for should be grateful this holiday season.
While I was helping at the shelter with central heating repairs, I recently met a family that immigrated here from Mexico. They came with almost nothing, and worked very hard. The man of the house worked in construction while his wife was a stay at home mom. They had scrounged to save up enough to buy a small studio and raise their families. Their children only spoke Spanish but they were trying to learn English so that one day they could be a part of the American dream.
However the devastation of hurricane sandy destroyed everything they owned, and now they were living in shelters. However even so, the parents both took up extra jobs, and without even complaining they have begun to pick themselves up and rebuild the pieces. So when you think you are having a bad day, keep in mind that you still probably have it better than many families out there. No matter how bad your day is, someone is going through one much worse. So this holiday season be thankful for what you have, and when you’re down, keep your head above water and know that you are gonna be ok.
Just wanted to chime in for those traveling
Hey guys I know that this weekend is Thanksgiving and I hope everyone has a great time with family and friends. Just wanted to let you know for those traveling for the holidays that there are still many great deals out there on hotels and flights if you know where to look. Thanksgiving oddly enough is a time that if you know what you’re doing you can get a bargain price on some great hotels and flights.
For example, if you are willing to take red eye flights, you can get a cross country roundtrip ticket from NY to LA for only $300! Also if you don’t mind booking laterooms you can also book upwards of 70% off your hotel room! So definitely visit all the usual suspects like priceline, travelocity, expedia etc. and compare prices. I also like to check out Kayak too to see what’s going on there.
Hmmm let’s see some other advice for the holidays…Oh yeah if you are looking for prohormones or other magic pills to get you in shape during the holiday season, my advice to you is don’t! All the fat burners and bodybuilding supplements in the world are not going to prevent your body from going downhill during this time. There will be too much great food to eat that you will definitely not be able to keep any diet, so hold off until the new year.
Again I wish you guys all a great holiday season and may you spend some much needed rest and holiday cheer with the ones that you love. Also Christmas is just around the corner as well, so use this advice again to book some great stuff!
SEO Tips For The New Millenium
If you have a website that’s good. If you have a website that people actually find, that’s great. So how do we go from good to great? When I was promoting my site advertising ACLS online training I knew I had to get maximum exposure. My friend who worked as an Alpharetta locksmith turned me on to the benefits of SEO that he said helped his business greatly. Well there are many ways to promote your website, but something that you need to learn to succeed in the online marketing world is how to generate traffic through search engines.
The act of increasing visibility of your website falls under an industry called search engine optimization, or SEO for short. It is something that you need to learn, and if done right, it can be very profitable. There are many theories on how to do it, but to keep things simple I come from the school of non-seo, meaning to get the most visibility out of your website you need to just focus on great content.
There are many conflicting theories behind SEO, but all seem to agree that the primary focus on creating a website is to create great content. There are many forums and blogs that tout seo tips and strategies that call for complex link structures etc., but really all you need to do is create content that people want, and eventually content that people want to share.
Remember that to be successful in business, we need to fill a need. This is true whether it be online or in a brick and mortar setting. Your business has a target audience, and you need to analyze what they need. So create a website that has rich and insightful content. Is your site about home improvement? Maybe you can write articles outlining some home improvement tips, or even better, create some free YouTube videos that showcase how to repair some common household items. Remember if you want to succeed, you need to create things that people want.
So remember if you want to get the most out of search engine traffic, create quality content, and lots of it. The more you write, the more visitors you’ll have, and the more business you’ll receive. So don’t concern yourself with SEO just yet, start with the basics of quality content, and then see how it goes from there. The foundation of any good website is quality writing, so invest in good content before you place your hard earned money anywhere else.
Volunteer
Hall of fame coach Phil Jackson once said that coaching basketball wasn’t a job, it was his passion that brought him joy. It didn’t feel like work, it was feeding his soul. For me that passion lies in volunteering and helping those that are less fortunate than I am. There are many reasons to volunteer, and whenever you learn a new trade, I highly recommend you volunteer and try to gain as much experience as you can. Experience is worth its weight in gold, and to some I understand the notion of working for free seems ridiculous. However some of the most valuable skills I have learned in my life have come from times that I have volunteered.
For example, the first job that I had was in a call monitoring center. My job was to help with the call recording software at our local welfare office. Needless to say while I operated that software I had to deal with all sorts of people that would call in. However my apprenticeship there had taught me a lot about people as well as how to deal with them. Learning to deal with people is an essential skill in life, and all the hours I spent talking with people there helped me to greatly develop my social skills.
When I was first beginning to learn web design I volunteered to help with the secretary duties of the main web designer in exchange for free instruction. I didn’t have much money at the time, so going to school for it was out of the option. I was short on funds but long on time, and by volunteering I learned the foundation of what is my career today.
So remember any time you can try to go out of your way to volunteer. You’ll see that more often than not it will be greatly worth your time.
My Beginnings As A Web Designer
Many people asked me why I love web design. Aside from the fact that it pays the bills, I always had a fascination with art and bringing things to life. In the modern world, practically everyone and their mother uses the internet, and I wanted to place my mark on the world artistically in the world of web design. There are also many other things that I like about it, but let me first tell you a bit about who I am and what I do.
Growing up I was never a good student. I struggled with math and reading comprehension. To the dismay of my parents I excelled in art, and for the longest time I wanted to be a painter. However a job as a painter most would believe doesn’t really amount to a career, and I struggled with the notion of giving up my passion just to eek out a meager living.
As time went on, I realized that I could parlay my skills as a designer into the modern tech world. I was fascinated with web design, and the possibility that I could practically utilize my creative skills to create things that were beautiful and functional at the same time. I also knew that if I got good at it I could possibly make a career out of it, and after realizing that I never really looked back.
Studying the basics as well as following the teachings of other web designers, I quickly became good at putting together code to form aesthetically pleasing websites. I soon found that the better I got, the more in demand I was. I slowly began to grow a client list, many of whom are still clients of mine today. I finally was happy with what I had achieved, and I was making a decent living at it as well.
Every year the web design industry grows as new software and design trends emerge. It truly is an exciting industry, as it is both challenging and therapeutic at the same time. Web design not only encompasses the artistic side of tech, but it also offers practical applications as well. A well built site is the foundation to any business, and more often than not a site can either make or break one.
Aside from web design, there are also many related facets of the industry that can help you to achieve your financial goals as well. For example there are many people out there looking for reliable web hosting and if you can build a good web hosting company you can generate a good monthly income if you build up your client base. Also if you want to get into search engine or social media marketing there is money to be made there as well.
I hope this blog will educate those who are interested in web design as well as for others that want to get into other areas of tech. There is a lot of money to be made on the world wide web, so I hope that this will be a place that you find informative and fun at the same time.
